Welcome to my blog!

Greetings, friends! Thanks for checking out my real estate blog and my very first post!

I thought I’d start with my story: how I got into real estate.

I worked in sales for most of my career. From 2013 to 2016, I worked in timeshare sales in Myrtle Beach, SC. Yes, I sold timeshare; no, I wasn’t sleazy about it. But let’s be honest, I was selling a product that people adamantly did not want and my job was to change their minds. As you might imagine, that type of work is what can best be described as soul crushing. I had to get out.

I made decent money hocking timeshare but I worked so much that I didn’t have time to spend any of it. So, I found myself with money in the bank and a deep dislike for this daily grind. So, I quit. I walked in one day and said I’m done.

I had a very vague plan that I would get into real estate. I even interviewed at a few builders before I had my license. Didn’t get the gigs so I put the cart back behind the horse and got my real estate license in South Carolina. I also enjoyed a few months of not working!

Now, breaking in to a new career is both scary and expensive. I was single and had to support myself. Relying soling on real estate seemed a little daunting. Ultimately, I took another sales job to make ends meet, then bought a salon and ran that for 5 years. I know, I got side tracked. But I was still working a bit in real estate. I got my North Carolina license during this time and I sold some land for a family member.

In 2020, it was time to move on from the salon. It wasn’t my calling, I didn’t love it, and the grind was getting to me. I sold my interest in the business. With that money, I’ve been able to fund my full time venture in to real estate!

So far, so good! I’ve helped several families quickly find the right home or the right buyer, overcome a deal that fell apart completely, and looked with a few clients for months to find the right home. Looking forward to what 2022 will bring my way!
